I have used YRYM HT barbecue grill mats a dozen times so far with fairly good results. Care must be taken to treat these like Teflon coated surfaces upon use and cleaning, and not be too abrasive to these sheets (with metal utensils or abrasive pads) or you will easily ruin these. I strongly recommend using only plastic utensils and the use of Teflon friendly abrasive sponges to clean, and then I think these should last a long time. They clean up easily, but you can tell which ones have been used, and which ones are brand new. During use, it would have been nice if there were grooves designed in these to direct the greases and liquids into a drip container. If these sheets are loaded with juicy meats or others, the cooked off greases run off the sheets and dirty the grill, which is what I was mostly trying to avoid. Somewhat similar to cooking in a pan (versus a grill grate), but it does seem to get better flavor from the grill versus the cook pan.
We grilled Teriyaki chicken and pork kabobs on YRYM HT copper grill mat over the weekend, and the result was fantastic! The kabobs grilled up perfectly, and it was so much easier to do. You know how you get the smoke blow-back when you brush on additional Teriyaki sauce while grilling kabobs? Well, that doesn't happen when you do it on this copper grill mat. It leaves all the junk on the mats, and cleaning them up is a breeze. I soaked them in a sink of hot, soapy water; then washed the mats, rolled them up, and put them away. Clean up was a breeze, and grilling the kabobs wasn't a hassle. They were D-licious! This is the best thing I have found for grilling in ages. Anytime you grill small stuff that can fall down in the grill or you are brushing on sauce, copper grill mats are the way to go!
YRYM HT barbecue grill mats are really versatile. Used one for cheese stuffed chicken breast. The cheese oozed out, but didn't drop down the grill grates, so the flames didn't flare up, hence the chicken did not burn! Also, zucchini slices can now be made on the grill without dropping through (I prefer thin slices rather than chunks)... bonus! Additionally, these can be used in the oven, which will be good for eliminating those spill mishaps like cheezy pizza or overflowing lava cakes. I won't have to scrub the bottom of my oven anymore. It is a useful product to help cook items that would fall thru the grate when cooking (vegetables), and it is good for fish. I found that it does not get the grill marking as advertised, and it slows the cooking process slightly which was a little difficult to judge at first. It is a good gift for not picky grilling people.
We use copper grill mat on our grill, it's a great barrier from the coating that's starting to show wear. These things really work. I was initially skeptical but after three BBQs, I'm converted to a believer. Absolutely fantastic. And everyone who sees them has ordered them too! They work great on the grill and make cooking loose food like vegetables or pre-cut fajita meat on the grill easy. HOWEVER, cleanup is NOT a snap - the food that does get stuck to it REALLY likes to stay stuck and it's a pain in the backside to remove. Also, when cleaning, the edges tend to fray...haven't had one tear yet, but they look rough after just a few uses. If these are meant for single use, not worth the money, but for me, the pain to use them and then clean them afterwards makes them only worth the time when I really need them. I'm surprised how these work well. They keep things from falling through the grill slats, but also allow grill marks on veggies, meat, etc. Great!
